Doing my sodding head in now.

Both iPhone we have stopped showing in iTune since a couple of days ago. They plug in and charge via USB, but usually if they have photos on the camera roll it automatically opens iPhoto to import them. It doesn't do it anymore and neither does mine. Then if I open iTunes they don't show in there either?

Tried re-booting Mac, no luck
Tried re-installing iTunes, no luck
Tried re-booting iPhones, no luck
Tried re-setting iPhones whilst plugged in with iTunes open, no luck

Anyone got any ideas please?

What about a system restore to time when it was ok ??? on pc might be worth a try???

Not showing on PC either?

And to do a restore I need it to show in iTunes I think.

I got one of them working now (the wifes), but event that doesn't work properly as now iPhoto is not picking up the photos from the camera roll, but at least iTunes is showing it.

I was reading it might be something to do with applemobiledevice.pkg so I tried redownloading it but still no luck.

Looks like I will have to do a complete re-flash of the phone if I want to add any music, photos etc. still ok for apps over wireless though.

Hopefully it's an iTunes bug from the latest update and they will release a fix in the next few days.

It should be the same as an iTouch for a total reset:

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears restore the iPhone software.

:)

Tried that first, but still doesn't show. Funny how the PC doesn't see it either.

When I plug it in the hub the iPhone battery shows as charging but the light no longer comes on my hub to show it is connected, but my wifes does now?

And before anyone says it I have tried without the hub too direct and still no luck.

Have you plugged in any other USB sticks or anything Craig?

The reason I ask is if the PC has designated a drive letter to the iPhone then the other thing thats plugged in might be using the same letter hence the phone wont show up when connected?

It sounds a likely cause if it's not showing under 'My Computer'

It's on my Mac, and yes I have tried plugging things into the different USB ports and unplugging everything else, rebooting with nothing plugged in etc but still no luck.

However, I'm at work atm so I rebooted the phone whilst pluued into my works laptop (Windows) and it recognised it as a camera, which it didn't do this morning when I first plugged it in, so will try at home again tonight.

Might have been because I unplugged it from my works laptop without stopping it first and that confused it, doesn't explain the wifes though, unless mine confused the Mac too? lol

Roll on 5pm!

Nah still no good.

Will wait and leave it until I HAVE to upgrade or they make a fix.
