Right, daughters birthday coming up and she wants a new tablet. I can't make my mind up between the following:

16GB Nexus 7 (2012) £79

or

16GB Tesco Hudl £99

I'm not bothered about any differences with cameras as they aren't going to be used. The Nexus has Tegra 3 graphics in it whereas the Hudle has a slightly larger screen res and dpi but Mali 400 graphics. Both run uncluttered Android.

Tablets aren't my best subject so wondered what do you guys think?

Remember the hudl also has SD slot. Its also about to be replaced so expect price to drop in the next month or two.

My personal preference would be the nexus as it was a beautiful tablet tbh.and the good thing is it always has the latest android.

lol, damn they are both very good points. See the dilemma? :)

I've not used the Nexus but have heard great things said about them. I had a fiddle with a hudl a few weeks back and it was very nice.

I would go the nexus as it will get updates for longer period of time from google.

I have a Nexus 7 and my son has the Hudl,i really don't see much difference between them even with KitKat on the Nexus 7,both are very good tablets, one thing also to remember is the Hudl has a hdmi out if you want to plug it into tv etc,but as mentioned google always update the Nexus first and the Hudl is still on jellybean.

It's first gen 2012 model, any game i have tried on the Nexus plays well but i'm not a big game player,i installed Asphalt 8,on both of the Tabs just for a comparison when i purchased my sons Hudl,it played well on them both and to be honest i cant see much difference between them, video play was also good on them both. The Hudl is slightly more thicker and more solid feel to it than the Nexus, but i still wouldn't swap him if he asked lol.

Thanks mate :)

Ah thanks mate i didn't know the hudi had a hdmi output might have to think about getting one

I read reports that the charging port is not very good on hudl.

I went with the Hudl in the end as couldn't get the Nexus anymore at that price. Pretty impressive so far.
