Samsung Galaxy SIII whats the best case to get , and do i need a screen protector ?

any one got this phone ?

what case did you go for , also are you useing a screen protector on it , ive read the screen cant be scratched , but would hate not to use one then it does .

I just have a basic silicone type case on mine and its been dropped a couple of times and is till like brand new not a scratch, not too sure about the screen being UN-scratchable when i got mine i got the Screen Protector type that has like a Glue backing and comes with lifetime warranty and its been great no problems at all

tbh i have one of these phones and not that impressed with it
seems very glitchy and slow to me
sorry forgot to add i got a full case ( so it is fully covered in )and screen protector on mine

I love mine, its fast and I've never had it glitch. I've got a Samsung slim flip case and I don't have a screen protector. I don't think it would be much use if I dropped it but I prefer the slim look of it. You can also talk on the phone when the case is shut.

and put a zagg full wrap on it.

how do i root this phone? am i OK to update it? used to apple so im scratching my head abit!

Standard gel case on mine & no screen protectors, seven months usage & no scratches.

XDA is a good place for information on rooting it. I would say unless you really need root access, best leave as is. I did my HOX and the UI crashes a lot and incoming calls drop.

+1 for XDA on rooting info. Coming from Apple, I would have to agree you won't really have to root since there's a lot more freedom on Android compared to Apple......although I guess it does depend on what features you need.

I can recommend the otter box, two protection cases in one. Rubber inside and a hard outer shell, cost about £20 on ebay but well worth it.
it does make the phone more bulky but as the price of a new screen is still very high i can live with that..
