Hi,all I have been given some free clines for test.
Don't know if there any good but wanted to try them out before I purchase cline.
Need some advise to inserting them through dcc

Not sure if that comes under the banner of things that we can't talk about here m8

I would say OK to discuss and advise but not to ask for or offer ;)

thanks Ferret,I will have a look at the link, did'nt think I was doing anything wrong asking for adivce though.

Nobody said you were m8, @Cressi was just erring on the side of caution as he was unsure of the exact rules regarding your original question :)

Once you have the required sealions then we can advise how to get them on to your box :)

Just shout if you get stuck

cheers wiz, to be honest I am still looking for the enhanced firmware I need? as stated in the guide for my usb stick,I have the lavatronics image on e2, is that classed as enhanced firmware??

Enhanced firmware is only for the closed source HD range like Micro, Mini, 8140, Spiel etc. but not the Alien / Alien 2 range which use either Spark or Enigma2 firmware, sounds like where you are going wrong right now is looking at guides for the HD range when in fact you need to be looking at Spark or Enigma2 and generally setting up OScam which is usually best done via the OScam Webif, hope that helps point you in the right direction.

you might be right, so far I have converted lines to oscam and saved them, I going to have ago putting them in tomorrow through dcc.

I would avoid using the converter software if at all possible, it has a tendency to either add to many details or not enough depending on what you want to do, best avoided.

Anyway the fact you have the Lavatronics (I presume backup?) firmware on there means you'll have had most of the hard work done for you already, should just be a case of heading into the OScam webif and typing in a few details, clicking save and probably restart and away you go.

First question to point you in the right direction on this is do you know when the Lavatronics firmware is from roughly? If it's the latest one it'll have a video intro, if it's an older one it'll have a static bootlogo but should also give some kind of indication when it's from, once we know that it should be a couple of minutes job to get you going provided no OScam files have been touched or edited already.

Ok that's a little older one but still no reason it shouldn't work perfectly well still... So thing to do is make sure OScam is activated in the softcams plugin (will be by default) then in a web browser enter http://ipofreceiver:8888 and you should get a username and password prompt pop up, enter alien and alien for this and you should see the OScam webif... The next parts very easy but one stage at a time let's get you to the stage where you see the OScam webif and once you do post up again and we can move on to the next part.

You need to make sure of course that both the receiver and the computer with the browser are both connected to the same local network and both have valid IPs, obviously you want to replace ipofreceiver with the actual local IP address of the receiver, the other common one is missing the colon between IP and port number, it's essential the : is between them and with no other spaces.
