Hi, can anyone recommend a enigma 2 image for this box that is compatable with a wifi connection to the internet, I do not have a landline so I have to connect to the internet via the wifi dongle - it works fairly well with the spark side of things and the configuration under spark is straightforward. I have also been trying to connect my box to my laptop for ftp purposes but I am not sure if I am connecting the box correctly - I assume you use a usb cable with two male ends i.e one into usb on laptop and one end to the usb on the back of the box ????

THANKS

After a bit more research it would appear there is not a Enigma 2 image for this box that supports wifi connection and the cable used to attach the box to a laptop is a null modem cable - is this correct ???????

can you change your wifi dongle to a mifi or hot spot?
i know O2 have a hotspot, vodafone and 3 have mifi
you can then use a vonets wifi bridge to connect the box.

Hi, thanks for the reply, I do have my samsung galaxy s2 set up as a wifi hot spot and use the tethering for this. As I have said the wifi antenna is recognised when using the Spark side of the box but when I switch it to Enigma 2 the software only supports a wired connection i.e. the ethernet cable connection, I would have thought if the spark software has a wifi set up then Enigma 2 should but evidently not. I have tried a wifi bridge but this does not seem to improve things. I think I will order a new wifi bridge and try that or stick with the Spark side. Does anyone have a answer to what cable you use to connect the box to the laptop ?????

bit of a bummer way round is to put a laptop next to your alien and runs ethernet cable to box and then use your wifi from laptop to bridge connection to your stb it does work as ive done it before when my internet was being changed over
