Protek 9710 HD

I have a Protek 9710 HD loaded with latest Boris T 1.21 firmware but it's stoped clearing channels. Any body else having same problem?

Protek not got provider built in?

Sounds like the MAC has been switched off on the Gift, Time to purchase a new box as if i recall and @mdt will be able to clarify these are not too stable with either CCcam or Mgcamd unless things have changed

It only uses NCam which I use and it's very stable.
I have noticed the boquet auto update still working.

bouquet updater still works when the gift has been switched off. i cant say for 100% how it recognises your stb at the system end but its either through the mac address or through a 32 digit id number buried in the patched firmware. the protek boxs used to have no time limit on the gift services but it seems over the last 18 months/2 years they now only give you a certain amount of time which is at least 2 years i think. unfortunatly the boxs dont have the ability to run CC*** and there is no emulator function for b***/softcam either which is a strange omission imo. you can either get a new box or try a source a N*****d connection but these are few and far between for anything other than 1 provider and thats usually the one on astra2. why not try a spiderbox/smartbox 6000hd as these are cheap, have good support for softcam ect and have a 12mth service aswell once patched. regards mdt
