Hello one & all, I'm looking to buy one of these boxes & I'm a bit unsure whether it's good for a first timer. the one I've seen is on a well known selling site (not sure if I break the rules by posting actual site) according to the spec on the page it contains the following spec,


Latest openpli image (super stable image, special editon)
 rats channel updater (alwayes channels list up to date)rats picon updater (alwayes with picons up to date)ITV plugin (catch up with ITVBBC IplayerCross EPG (7 day full epg)


Now I'm being totally honest here, I ain't got a clue what any of this stuff means I've tried reading up on the internet, but can't really get any clear definitions of what this all means, what I'm hoping (praying) is that I can get some "premium" channels with this setup (mods I apologise if I shouldn't of posted this) if anyone can help me I'd be indebted to them for the assistance, and any help I get I'd quite happily pay it forward with the next newbie who comes along

I've tried to read as much as I can on this site and I'm just wondering could anyone please throw me a bone as I haven't got a clue what I'll be doing when I get my box I'd be over the moon if someone just told me what a DCC is and a Vucc is. Tbh I'm lost!

Theses are software tools used on your computer to do various tasks like transferring files (FTP) and or issuing commands to your box via computer (Telnet)..these are used to put in cfg files or channel lists etc.
Basically they allow communication from computer to box.
DCC dreambox control center. VUCC is vu control center..you only need one and I use always DCC.
they work by entering your IP address of box into software thus allowing communication from computer to box.

ok Ive setup my box got my 'freeview' channels but cant get the sly channels im just wondering do i need one of those free gift things that you get of a certain website to get the channels i need i think its a n-line would really be made up with the help as i think im almost there (struggled like a B****rd mind.

Yes for pay channels you will need a nline or cline and convert it to oscam for your box. Once you've done that you'll get the pay channels but it can't be discussed further here
