Just to let you know that skybox f5s allows you to use clines.

Good first box, great HD picture and everything you need to get you up and running. Have had 1 for 2 years with no issues

i agree with jmcmp good first box had mine 7 months

cheers mate, i`m gonna order one when i get the new house. see how it goes

Care to enlighten us with more on this subject?

Quite straight forward. Sky changing card pairing system and process seems to be nearing completion. Once fully implemented there will be no cs on 28e anymore

This is also why every tom, dick and harry are offering 12 month subs for peanuts as you will most likely only see 3 months at best!

I have never put my white card in the amstrad box its registered to since I got it, i also have a sd sub on a non amstrad box which cannot accept the new pairing system.
as long as my card keeps updating entitlements same as it has been doing for over two years it will still be shared.
Also as far as I am aware this is only effecting the HD channels and premium (sports and movies). I would pay a tenner a month for the rest of the package to payserver rather than the £22 that sky charge.

Till they start swapping out all the SD boxes and roll it out to all channels ;-)

Have you any proof that this is in the pipeline? with an estimated 1 million+ sd boxes in circulation its a lot of money to replace these. probably cheaper to wait until the next NDS card swap out.
Even swapping out the SD boxes doesn't stop the HD cards that are updating now.

They haven't gone to all this trouble and expense just to let it all carry on with SD only. What would be the point?

As for proof there obviously is none but people are already receiving letters stating that their Thompson HD box needs to be swapped out to continue service so why would that not naturally move on to SD boxes after?

Even before all this started they were giving HD box upgrades to SD customers.

in 3 months you will have made your money back compared to paying sly so what have you got to lose really. go for it, if it all stops which has been talked about for a long time. just sign back up with sly and get a better deal than you are with them now anyway

How do you know the new pairing system hasn't been cracked and it's just being kept quiet as C/S is getting to mainstream now?

Also that's a fair price, cheap box though and it's cheap for a reason :)

I hope you're right! As for the original post though I would personally advise buying the Box for £40 and asking someone on here to help with a line ;)

No point in it being cheap if its crap
