Just received delivery of a ferguson ariva combo box for an install i have to do today, after scanning sats (28.2) several times i see a few fta channels are missing, anyone else tried one of these receivers and find any problems, my first choice for the customer was an mvision 300 combo but my supplier was out of stock, i have used them before and find them very good indeed.

OK, a quick report on the outcome...

Spent 2 hours scanning for channels and sorting them into order, still didnt manage to get all the channels, on a scan you have to select satellites to scan, the only 1 i needed was 28.2... After selecting the sat I scanned and it only something like 94 channels, re scanned and same again. I then noticed the next sat in the list was eurobird 1 at 28.5 degrees, had to select this and the astra and do multi sat scan, took ages and still some channels missing, I looked for a way of downloading the chan list to usb for future reference but dont think its possible with this box. I then scanned for terrestrial stations which it found but fecked up my newly sorted sat channels, had to re sort again... I was gettin pretty pi$$ed off at this stage, anyhow proceeded to the customers house installed dish and new tv aerial, connected everything up, terrestrial channels freezing, managed to replace the cable inside the wall to the receiver and seemed to sort out the freezing, so I thought now the customer rang me yesterday sayin the channels are freezing again... Have to erturn today to fit an amp even though the levels should be fine as is but we'l see i guess.

In summary, would I buy another one of these boxes?
NO NO NO NO NO....

Mvision 300 a little more expensive but worth every penny.
