    Have you ever used paintshop pro ? Its the defacto pain tprogram. You can download a demo from corel.com. Its not free but its so advanced you might end up coughing up the money for it.

    Paint shop pro is certainly an excellent program. If you know where to look you could always get a free copy of photoshop

    i downloaded the trial of paintshop pro last year but you have to register at corel.com to use it. i registered but then it said the code i entered isnt valid.

    the gimp is an excellent free program, if favours the style of photoshop and is highly rated.

    I haven't tried it yet myself, but for creative art rather than touching up existing pictures, there's an open-source (free) program called ArtRage from Ambient Design - www.ambientdesign.com
