    dropped box

    hi guys my boy has a chipped xbox with a evo x chip in it , he has had it for a few days and has been working fine . tonight i try to move it and it slipped from my hands now it won`t start up but flashes red and green . and the tray won`t open please has anyone ideas please were i start to look?

    do you get an error on the screen when you start it up m8

    did you install the chip you could see if all the soldering to the chip and the pinheader are all ok. or if its a solderless chip in the xbox then that could be you prob m8 you only have to nock it then the pinheader comes out of place just open it up and have a good look

    red and green flashes mean an error i would sugest opening it up could be somthing easy like the ide or power cable has cum out of the hard drive?

    hi m8 no i didn`t install the chip .i shall get some torque screwdrivers tomorrow and open the box . what does the pin header look like can i find a picture in the forum . ( i had a feeling it is something like this) thanks in advance

    gopher2005 just to let you know he is not getting an error message on the screen so it must be a littel more than just the ide cable come out of the hardrive m8 it sounds more like the chip to me

    hi guys i have managed to get to the pinhead etc and it has a total of 9 red wires leading a small chip ( on a sticky pad ) one of thease wires is not connected to both the pinhead and chip( Knock it off )i guess this is my problem as u said . i can see where it goes on the pinhead but where do it go on the chip cheers the chip reads applex v
