Discuss unknown file format??? at the Burning CDR + DVDR within the DigitalWorldz - Satellite, Cable, Console Forums; hi all
just a quicky, have got a film and I don't recognise the file format, not sure how to burn it to disc, the file is RMVB file, have never seen this before, anyone ...

just a quicky, have got a film and I don't recognise the file format, not sure how to burn it to disc, the file is RMVB file, have never seen this before, anyone any ideas??

23rd December 2005, 14:48 #2 RMVB stands for Real Media Variable Bitrate and is commonly used to contain RV9 (Real Video 9 video) and RA (Real Audio). I've encoded in this format before and it's better than DivX in terms of quality at low bitrates. Higher bitrates are fairly similar.
Better to use Media Player Classic (MPC) with the Real Media codecs installed to play it back:
