ok qwerty what you need to find out is if your pc that connects ok has a static ip address asigned by the isp +dns +wins addresses as well ...if this is so then you must add a second network card to this machine which needs to also be set up for internet sharing.the new nic can then be connected to your switch and old nic to the cable modem ..then set up your network to access each other ..you might want to look at your isp's web site to see if they recomend particular ip ranges + dns entries ..gateway ip's and so on..
it is also very possible that your isp is picking up the mac addresses from your other pc's nic's and not allowing them access..but then if you had a nice cisco switch like mine it would use its mac addy for the cable modem and not report the pc's nic's addys..basically what im saying is that most cable operators will only allow one mac address to connect to them but others allow upto five so you either fool them by using a programmable switch or make a machine the main connection to the net and every other machine connects to the net through it

ok thanks, i do have a static ip address and have a mac addy which i gave to n"+ and have a 5 port soho sw5p switch and a Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC on main comp so how do i change the mac addy on my switch??

you cant m8 ...have you given the switches mac addy to your isp...i do strongly recomend that you set up your own proxy server it will make life so much easier
