any special reason it has to be a dreambox? whilst they are a brill reciever they have a VERY steep learning curve and to be honest i think youd be very hard pressed to find someonr that would supply, install and show you how to use one. you might be better buying the equipment yourself and if you dont feel confident enough to install it with our help then get someone in to just setup the dish and motor fpor you

then the hard bit begins. i got a dreambox about 6 months ago and am still pulling my hair out trying to work the thing properly. ive got it fully networked and every time i try something new with it EVERYTHING goes tits up lol

once you got one though, and workedd out how it works, youll have one of the best setups available

edit: have you thought about the very user friendly technomate recievers?

there are various dreambox's and various technomates which 1 do you think is 'the best'? And why? Will you have a network and permanent high speed net connection for the dreambox? What type of channels are you looking to receive? Do you not have any limit on budget? Do you have good understanding of Linux?

Dreambox or modern technomate dont need cams or cards for some chans, others they may do.

My experience with satellite is that you always need to upgrade to keep at the top with latest 'best'. Whats best this month may not be the best next month etc. Unless you are very rich you may need to draw the line somewhere.

with tecnomate you dont need camZ or cards, just use the patch software to load up to receiver which takes a very sort time. this patch will open alot of scrambled channelZ. the tecnomate tm1500 has a cam slot & card slot so you can use as well.

m8 if you want a dreambox id suggest waiting at least 6-8 weeks before getting one

i have just tried to order some today and the trade price for them has gone up by 30% plus vat, something to do with new tuner chips that are being used in them and theres not enough of them to meet the demand.

id say teh 1500CI+ as it has a built in cam thats near enough a dragon cam and a slot to accept another cam

it can also be patched to recieve extra channels without the need for cards etc, will drive a diseqc or usals motor and is one of the most userfriendly recievers i have seen
