    no picture

    hi all
    got myself a new 4001 sorted talk, when i connect up to tv I can not get a clear picture, have swopped for known working tunner and still no picture, I can make out shapes just about but can't get it to tune in anyone any ideas hat it is or what to try

    Try SCART and RF, if both are the same poor quality I would place a bet that it's a faulty cap on the mainboard causing the video problem.

    I've seen one or two like that, leaky caps on the underside near the SCART sockets.

    It could be other things of course but that's my ideas.

    am using coax will try it on a scart and see if it makes any diff, how would I be able to check/repair those??

    ok tried scart and picture is fine sorted freq, do I need to set net id or will it reset itself the box is a 4001, ask this as its benn stuck in tune for the past half hour

    i got to laugh sorry mate - it sounds real easy or F@@kin terrible! make sure your f lead is connected . check the cim you cut talkback in for dry joint around socket ect. finally try booting box with ch down held in. < if that doesn't work it could be pretty bad.

    @ quicksilver - if by 'tuner' you mean the can that the cable feed plugs into, you can ditch it all together. There are two smaller cans that this large can plugs into, just run your cable feed directly into one of them using a standard co-ax connector (sorry can't remember if it's the front or back one but you'll soon find out!).
