Just wondered why the Swedes didn't take the opportunity to interview him in the Ecuador Embassy in London? Curious about the interesting new law about 'embassy access' ...

    Exclamation Julian Assange...

...yeah, he looks dodgy, and the name sucks...

Just wondered why the Swedes didn't take the opportunity to interview him in the Ecuador Embassy in London?

Curious about the interesting new law about 'embassy access' for the Police?

Also, why do we not slap the US and tell them to 'fook off' a lot more than we do?

Who the fook do they think they are???

    Re: Julian Assange...

I've been watching. I hope they get him out somehow before he ends up on a CIA plane and then in a small, brightly lit cell somewhere until his defence funds run out.

I did read somewhere that Sweden has to conduct formal interviews on their own ground, I don't know the truth of it though.

There is an ulterior motive which most people know.

They'd assasinate him, but that won't serve the purpose of making an example of him.

    Re: Julian Assange...

Assange is being prosecuted for having sex without a condom, with someone who didn’t mind the lack of condom at the time, but who subsequently was cross about the fact that he didn’t use a condom.
He is being stitched up IMHO. I unlike one of the previous posters hope he manages to get the hell out of this country before they can extradite him to the US - Via Sweden of course. This is all because he embarrassed some powerful people. They want to make an example of him. Don't forget the poor bloke who passed on some of those secrets to wikileaks has currently served 800+ Days in custody without trial - Bradley Manning. Good ole USA the defender of human rights. For those that support all this then just think what you write on the internet because write the wrong thing and next time we may be talking about YOUR extradition.

It's pretty frightening that this thread is not 20 pages long with people up in arms and arranging to at the very least email their Mp to voice their concerns. I must just be some sort of anarchist or something because I have done just that. Probably wont make a blind bit of difference but if a fair percentage of the voting public DiD then you could bloody well bet your house that it would make a difference. Our Mp's don't take much notice of us unless they themselves feel threatened. And they only feel threatened when a large percentage of their voters let them know their feelings. i really don't think people appreciate how important cases like this really are. If the government bend the rules here then what becomes of our diplomats in countries all around the world. Even Saddam recognised the importance of Embassies and Diplomats. And yet the UK and the USA seem to believe they can do as they please without any comeback. TBH the whole thing beggars belief.
