I got a hand me down iphone 4 on the T-Mobile network I was in a rush to play so I hactivated and jailbroke the device before I got a new micro sim. I have now received the micro sim but I get no service when it is installed. Because I have hactivated with no sim can I no longer go thru that process again using an official sim? Or would the sim card not be activated yet?

It shouldn't make a difference as long as your using t mobile or the phone is unlocked.

Yeah I thought that but still no service, the phone is not unlocked and was on T-Mobile so cant see why but I have never activated it properly. I am going to restore in itunes try and activate then re-jailbreak and hope that fixes the problem. Thanks sheraz2.

Yeah best to do a fresh install activate the phone and the jailbreak. You only need to use a hacktivated image when you do t have the network sim that activates the phone.

Now cant restore thru itunes it gives me a 1602 error!

Yeah I got the 1602 error when restoring iPhone in iTunes I have sorted it now, I did the shift +left click on restore and selected the already downloaded stock firmware in the iTunes folders and it has now restored and I have my sim activated and working. Now to re-jailbreak! Any prefernce to which way to jailbreak? I did it thru redsnow last time and was going to do it by absinthe this time. Thanks for the help.
