    Re: Honest Taxi Driver

So downloading Movies is a crime, the crime here is the ridiculous prices they charge at the pictures that's all, oh and to line the filthy rich turds pockets with even more money for making the film, now that's a different type of stealing and should not be brought in to this thread. Luggage left in a taxi should be given back to its rightful owner. It's called common sense you know the cab firm you know the driver and you certainly will not get away with it in the eyes of the law.

Whilst it is illegal, copyright infringement isn't actually defined as theft.

it's a hard one this. and it always pops up when we discuss honesty, here.

personally, I say "well done the driver". and i, already know, i would act/have acted in the same way.

if he had kept it, fair enough. but if he did, and got caught, it serves him right.

but no, i dont think he needs, either reward or praise. he simply did what he should.

I wonder how Noodles would feel if it was him who left the money in the taxi?

    Re: Honest Taxi Driver

Downloading films, games and doing a little cardsharing is wrong. I do all these things but don't consider myself to be a thief.
All the information and files are freely available on the internet. The only adverse affects are on companies who are already making staggering amounts through legit consumers.

My idea of a thief is the type of person who would keep/steal something not belonging to themselves, knowing or/and not caring the impact this was going to have on ordinary people such as ourselves.
Many years ago my middle daughter had her new bike stolen a couple of days after Christmas. The cost of replacing it wasn't a problem but the guilt that my then 9 year old daughter felt was a problem. Didn't matter how much we told her that it didn't matter, she felt she had let us down. Took bloody weeks to get her back to normal cos some scumbag wanted it for his kid.
I would gladly have given him the £80 it cost to save my daughter that grief.

For anyone to advocate or agree that "finders keepers" is acceptable clearly don't think about or care about the fact that not only an individual but a family can be affected.
