i live in lancaster ... just been home and seen my dads dreambox and wanna get started with getting one and installing it .... what do i need where do i get it ?....any help would be class

Depends what you want to use it for...if it's UK satellite you need a mini dish installed for starters or you can use your existing one. If you wan a standard non-HD dreambox then look at the Dm500 S clones..can be purchased for around 40 pounds upwards suppliers you'll have to google for them .. not hard to find..

If you want a HD Dreambox your best bet is a 800SE clone, which is around £150. Also supports PVR internal hard disk, for recording, USB etc..

If you want to look outside of the Dreambox scene a cheap Openbox S9/10/11/12 will do HD and PVR for under 60 quid...but the software and EPG is not as good as Dreamboxes, picture quality etc is good though for a no frills box.

I would suggest go with a cheap basic box like a 500S, learn the ropes then upgrade... theres a lot of reading to be done and you'll need to be handy with gneral PC stuff and basic networking to get up and running
