as title says have a white screen on my blackberry the connects to my pc and i have downloaded latest software cud i need a new lcd screen

have u tried another battery?

I replaced a screen for someone a while back, I think I remember it being white.

He dropped the phone again and I have it back but now the LCD remains dark, backlight looks on though. No splash screen when it starts.

What model is yours?

ok, so is it white screen all the time, or just when connected to the PC?
is there any other thing on that screen? (hour glass?)
was it white screen prior to updating the firmeware?

first thing i always do, on 9300 curves. is leave the battery out for 1/2 to 1 hour. don't switch the phone off first. just pull the battery. (blackberrys own advice that).

need the answers to the above, before i can go any further.

My daughters 8520 did this the other day after she ran it flat. i thought it was a knacker job. Red light on constant when battery in with white screen.

Took battery out for ages, powered it via USB only, messed about with it and left it. Later on, put battery back in left it charging overnight and it's ok now. Probably means the battery is on its way out.
