...talking cold-callers here.

I've done the telephone preference service bit - didn't work, they just call from International. So I tried politely asking them to take me off their list. They didn't.

I gave them every expletive I know - and that's a lot. They just ignored it.

Now, I can't put here what I did but...

...every time you connect to their website it just displays my 'non-contact' terms and their mail server is busted. When they figure out how to fix their server they have 24 hours to confirm they won't call again...

I understand why you asked but I'll give them time to do the right thing first.

I'd name and shame a previous company but I suspect mods wouldn't thank me for that...

Most of these international callers come in through the Skype network, so there's not a great deal that UK providers can do to stop them.

In the first instance, it's best contacting your service provider (O2, BT, VM etc) with times, numbers (if poss'), and the type of calls (malicious, auto dialler, PPI etc) and ask them to instigate their nuisance calls procedure.

TPS is great in theory, but some of these scumbags are outwith the UK, and even Europe, so it doesn't matter one iota if you're registered or not.
