    Cheeky toe-rag...

Householders who pay tradesmen in cash are "morally wrong", a Treasury minister said.
Exchequer Secretary David Gauke accused homeowners who give workers cash of helping them avoid tax.
He said: "Getting a discount with your plumber by paying cash in hand is something that is a big cost to the Revenue and means others have to pay more in tax.
Cash in hand work 'morally wrong' - Yahoo! News UK

Maybe if MPs didn't have their snouts in the trough, with second homes and expenses for God knows what...

Maybe if big corporations paid the tax they SHOULD pay...

Maybe if Government chopped the banks off at the ankles and stopped using OUR money like it was THEIRS

Maybe if the super rich brought some of that $20 Trillion plus OUT of the tax havens - Super-Rich Hold Up To $32 Trillion In Offshore Havens: Report

Maybe if we stopped handing over huge swathes of cash to Europe...

Maybe if the financial speculators didn't manipulate everything to our disadvantage...

Maybe, just fooking MAYBE, I'd be interested in listening. As it is, David Gauke has a place reserved on the end of my fooking boot.

well lets face it. how many of Cameron's front bench, pay their tax, at the same rate as a working guy?

FFS, Osborn says he isn't even on top rate tax????????????????

    actually, i know the difference.

either way tax owed is stolen. its just tax avoidance, is generally only available to the rich to ultra rich.
and costs, vastly more than the evasion by, err, the more common person.

its all to avoid the most wealthy, paying their fair share.
being proud you "avoid" as opposed to "evade". just underlines they are sneak thieves. and proud of it it would seem!

The article is nothing to do with the difference between evasion and avoidance.

no but it points out evasion is to be used by the most wealthy.

if the point is it was a labour government. I wouldn't argue.
but they weren't chasing guys saving a few quid too.

standard conservative MO. pick on the weakest and most unable to defend themselves. whilst ignoring the most able and wealthy. like the cowards they are.

good points Him/Her it is rich those that have so much complaining when the oichs save a few bob.

@firemouth don't jump back at me as i am pretty non-political ....its not just the conservatives, the Labour PM's are exactly the same. it was evident with the expenses scandal. dont forget they have the biggest tax avoider family in the Blairs in their ranks.

That's all I was getting at, Labour don't deserve any brownie points either due to things they've done (or not done). LibLabCon need to be banished.

    Re: Cheeky toe-rag...

When was the last time your plumber, gas fitter, plasterer etc took switch or credit cards......and I'm sure if I was to give them a cheque they would be thrilled at that given the clearance time, plus would probably leave it open to abuse.

    F****ng idiots.

Typical political shit!!!!! Do as I say not as I do!!!!!

No time for the 2 faced lying, cheating, scamming barstards. I think they need to look at themselves first FFS.

Sorry for the language but they make my blood boil.

Why don't we start a petition for all politician roles to become voluntary with zilch for pay? We'll soon see the rats leaving. I bet they would never suggest that.
