Gordon Brown signed the Lisbon Treaty on the sly. A lot of EU stuff is done on the sly but most of them want the EU. They are still claiming the 1975 referendum on the common market (which we entered in 1973 anyway) is valid today for the EU and presumably political union.

Cameron talks about repatriating powers that have already went to Brussels but I'm not sure that there is actually a mechanism for that.

We need to fight this tooth and nail to get a say on it, I recommend signing up to People's Pledge - EU Referendum Campaign
