Don't really know why but I always liked this guy in his films. The Poseidon Adventure is one of the first films I saw in the cinema & thought he was great in it, even in RED I thought he played a great wee role.

Just told me dad, said he done loads of film's i remember him as the taxi driver in Escape from New York.

I remember him from airwolf, probably not his finest work

Oh, I don't know. probably one of his best, actually.
a case of quantity, as opposed to quality, i think.

when i was a kid, he seemed to be in everything. but most of it was "B" grade stuff.

I assume, even, I'm too young to remember his better stuff.

I feel for his family and close friends.

Not really, he won the best actor Oscar in 1955 for 'Marty'. He was one of the great character actors.

Sadly missed,i remember him mostly in some good westerns....

Was a great actor and very funny when being interviewed. He will be sadly missed.

Great actor. Remember him most as the prison warden in From Here To Eternity. RIP
