    social club help (bingo) lol

the missus went out tonight, with some friends to play bingo (woopee lol) and text me earlier to say she'd won nearly £400, cool, then textx me back to say they said she cannot have it cos shes not a member

now my understanding is that my he being allowed in, with members, and them taking her money and allowing her to play, if she wins, surely they have to pay her out? right?

i asked her if at the start did they say it was for members only etc, and she said no, as theres a few there who think its out of order, but they are sticking to their 'not a member so you cannot win' thing

is this legal, im sure its not

i hate the place, its full of wank3rs who think theyre above everyone else anyway, but im looking for advise before i go up there in the morning ready to rip strips off them

digi m8 i used to work for top rank casinos "bingo hall's" we used to have to ask every person coming in if they were a member.. if they said yes we had to see a membership card.. . if they they never had there card they would have to sign in like a guest. so i would say your in your right to kick off. its up to the door staff to make sure all cusomer's are members or signed in as a guest. if this wasnt done.ad kick off. all so i think a social club has to have gaming license and there must be certain laws they must stick to.. but not to sure but ad of thought so

Re: social club help (bingo) lol

Ha I remember a good few years back being signed in to a social club and winning the £150 Jackpot out the Fruit Machine. Some bloke behind the bar shouted out "Oi he aint a member he cant have that fruity jackpot"....To which I replied "Who's going to be 1st to stop me putting this cash in my pocket". A few mumbles and grumbles later but no challengers lmao. I walked out the place with the cash in my pocket about an hour later (had a few drinks first lol).
As for OP I would point out calmly to the club that you would "Hate for there various licence's to be in jeopardy over the sum of £400 but that you would be forced to complain to all relevant authorities if this wasn't sorted out in an acceptable way. I know it would feel better at the time to rant and shout but the calm method would be the best approach.

Ask for a copy of their rule book and ask them to highlight the relevant bit.

Depending on the rules, stuff like playing the bandit or being in the quiz might be alright for signed-in guests etc.

It might be that your club has some sort of affiliation and all of the same clubs will have a blanket rule for it (wmciu.org.uk/Forms/Information/information.html sort of thing). If it is a political club or whatever then you will be able to contact a central office to ask.

Re: social club help (bingo) lol

went up there this morning, and as expected, was met with arrogance and nothingness lol

i asked to see their rule book, and published codes of practise, and was told that only members could see them, so i asked to speak to somebody else, and was told i need to speak to fred, who strangley nobody knows his second name, his phone number, or where he lives, and hes not in untill tuesday morning

when i went up there, i just walked straight in through an open door, nothing anywhere about membership, no rules on the walls, no guestbook to sign, nowt, but a few half pissed old men, lol

anyone got a letter so i can formally request this rule book etc, and to request that they DO NOT erase the CCTV footage that will prove that nothing was said before the game started about non members not winning, even though theres witnesses to say this wasnt pointed out, i know what this place is like
