I never bothered with freeview as they always said they were making room by going digital so they could sell the analog freqs to the mobile phone companys.
I went freesat as the chances of interference are much less, I also convince my father to go freesat as he is in a marginal area for freeview so he already has a weak signal which will be very prone to getting wiped out by stronger signals from the phone companies.
I don't feel the mobile phone companies will care if they wipe out freeview or not, they pay big bucks so won't care at all.

Perhaps a class action by the affected, citing UK and EU EMC legislation will change their mind

there was a story posted on here awhile back stating the government had set aside some money for 200,000 homes or something like that , and this is only supposed to affect small rural areas

LTE inteference will ONLY affect you IF your currently picking up muxes broadcast on Ch 61-69, as these frequencies will be being relocated, then, it will only cause issues (or should only cause issues) if your aerial is within about 700M of the LTE call station AND pointing AT the LTE station, AND the mux you are receiving is in the top end of the frequency (CH57-59)

untill this switchover happens, NOBODY can reliably say whats going to happen

there is a govt backed company called MitCo or something, that will be contacting those likely to be affected, just like digitaluk did with the DSO stuff, and they will arrange ONE filter per home, this could be fitted at the aerial, and cover every tv if a distribution system is fitted, or can be fitted to one tv

where i live the relay station broadcasts on CH 62 and 65, so everything will change, and even though im finding out everything possible about it before hand, nothing can be done untill any interference happens

Culture Secretary Ed Vaisey has come under fire for the costs that Freeview user could be saddled with to remedy the expected interference from 4G masts.
The masts, which are scheduled to go up around Britain next year (we'll believe it when we see it), will help bring the next generation of mobile internet to gadget users across the nation.
However, it is expected that the activity of the structures will negatively impact the Freeview reception in 900,000 homes.
Mobile networks have accrued a fund of £180m to pay for £10 signal boosters for affected homes, but there are fears some customers will be forced to pay installation costs of £150.
Stealth tax

Members of the House of Commons culture, media and sport select committee expressed concerns that residents will be left to foot the bill.
Committee chairman John Wittingham said there "will be people who cannot watch television because mobile companies are broadcasting on 4G" and would have to pay through "no fault of their own."
Lib Dem MP Adrian Sanders added: "People in my constituency are looking at this as a government stealth tax. These companies are making profits year on year, on year."
Vaisey defended the measures, pointing out that vulnerable customers would get the installation for free.
Although the problem will not affect cable or satellite users, the £180m fund does not cover homes that use Freeview for the second television set.
"Some people take the view that every set should be covered but it's not the position we take," said the Culture Secretary.

just to point out, its not a booster that will be needed, but at the very least, an attenuator, as the signals are projected to be, in some cases, 70dB HIGHER than the terrestrial signal (a btvision box saturates and overloads at a normal reading of ~66dB, so imagine stuffing nearly 135dB of signal into it.......)

not sure what sort of freeview box the OP bought but £200 seem a bit pricey, i got one 6 months ago for a tv upstairs and it was £16 from asda.

I did say quite a few years ago I purchased it (when it was onDigital) but of course it just sits away doing nothing due to the changeover it will not work

If I remember only a limited number of on-digital boxes were effected by this and non where PVR so should not cost more then £25 to replace.

Maybe only £25 to replace but why did they change it so that the one I did have (that was working perfectly) could no longer be used they are the ones who decided to change say it will not work and as far as I was concerned should have offered some kind of free replacement

Its like you purchasing a push bike and then they tell you can no longer use that pushbike and so got to buy another when there is nothing wrong with it ?
