My main thing is, is it worth flashing a custon rom?

I mean s there vast improvement with a custom rom and which ones are you guys using?

dont bother with the rom cooking yet mate, HTC are very quick to void any warrenty with thier unlock, also S-OFF isnt in the unlock!! This is a real shame as i love changing roms, radios and kernals every other day on my old desire hd...
Ive been running stock for the last 2 months and have generally been very happy with the machine, there is a update due very soon which should also address overheating and battery issues (so the beta testers report).
If your running something cpu intensive like a 3d game dont charge at the same time!!! it will cause it to over heat and the red and green lights will flash at you until its cooled down.
side by side with the s3 im personally glad i got the hox as the screen is a real beauty, the s3 looks dull in comparison (and build quailty feels horrible compaired to the HOX) - im not saying this because i own the htc - i had planned on purching the s3 when it was released but the screen, build quality and touch wiz overlay put me off.
Another thing to watch atm is the storage space, i have found that if i have less than 1gb free space the machine virtually locks up, ive reset twice because of this, now i just leave a min of 1.1gb free (extra 100mb just incase i decide to take some pics) and she seems to run happily like that.

The OneX has got several reports of overheating though, auto switch off, black screens etc..

Well got one now and so far been lucky.

Whats the latest "official" firmware? Is this the one that deals with the battery as it aint that great.

Mines on 1.28. I think it includes the battery fix but I'm still charging mine every evening.

Anyone flashed theirs yet? I've been trying to read up and seems to have to unlock the bootloader first and then add custom rom. Is CM9 the best one to go for?

Mines on 1.29 with orange, not using custom just stock rooted, my battery lasts a good day with light to medium use
