may have been a jammed door sensor and the good slamming sorted it
hope thats all it was but it should have logged the error so once you set up
vag-com and get it connected it should let you know

stupid thing keeps going off again.
plugged the cable in and it goes its not compatible for my car. only upto A6 (C5). So gonna see if ebay sell one for my car.
Get yourself a can of WD40 and spray all your door locks all your door plunger switches, bonnet switches and boot switches inspect for trapped wiring or corroded wiring. Also you have little sensors in your back side windows these are soldered joints and can become brittle. That is your cheapest option at the moment.
had same problem on my q7 and all i did was drain the battery and charged it up again and it worked and never had problem again , only thing then to do is take the airbag and other light of dash , had bought a cheap vag tool on bay site to do these cheaper than dealers
Tried with the new cable and didnt work either lol. Checked the VAG cable and matched it up with the VIN number here:
Ross-Tech: VAG-COM: Audi 100 / A6 Applications
Aparently its a 2005 make car and not 2004 so takes these cables:
HEX-USB+CAN (USB)
HEX-COM+CAN (Serial)
dont waste anymore money m8 . phone round a few small garages and see if they have a vag tool and can read fault ,, they might only charge 25 notes
Tried a place next to work in watford they charge 30 quid so might try them.
Local is london lol they dont do small garages here. Minimum they charge for my local side street garage is 60 quid.
Im watching one on ebay anyway that claims to do this model....just for experimental purposes lol
god l need to put my prices up lol
Sorted! Took off them rubber bits between the door and found the rear passengers side door sensor had dislodged. Put it back in its place and perfect. I'm well proud lol I didn't need a garage.
Simple fix would have cost at least 100quid.
