Hi my mate has asked me if i can help him but i not got a clue . His daughter lost her dsi and a friend gave her another one, The thing is the one she was gave does not read any games its just a black screen. Is the card reader replaceable and is there any soldering in it?
or is there anywhere he can send it to be fixed?

My mates night-shift so i cant ask him just now. Its not been upgraded that was one of my first questions, should have asked him if there is anything coming up on the screen as soon as i know i will get back to you thanks

Powers on fine and you can go into the bit were you load the game and that but there is nothing there. Camera etc. all still work

get it off him mate and have a good look in the slot.seen a couple with bent pins and been able to fix with a really small driver to put pins in place
failing that is a board out and replace the card reader and yes it needs a soilder job done on it to replace the reader

when you put a game in its says no card in slot so i take its a new reader needed. He's in stranraer so hes own his own with this one and he cant solder

tell him to slide a peice of card in as well as the cartrage as this might push the card on to pins but yes think its a new reader
