new to the 360 so if i sound dumb sorry right i have a xbox 360 that powers up fine but there is no picture on the tv but it has the sound what can this be ?

This could be red ring of death, have you done a fix on it before?

no mate no fix on it as i said im new to the xbox

Your grahics chip is failing if you know someone who can do a reball or a reflow. I would reflow for you if you were close mate.

It's a lot of messing about and might not work, as nistleboy said probably needs reballing.

dont want to make you look a dummy by asking this but has this xbox been on the tv you're using before?

seems a lot of talk and no one has mentioned the basic resolution problem.

you dont mention rrod in your first post either.

have you tried to reset the resolution?

maybe worth a try before ripping it apart.

lots of youtube vids ect online but iirc its turn xbox on with center button on pad then hold y and right trigger to reset it.

ignore all the above if it has been working before and you have not changed anything.
