You need to remember that, like most DVR hard disks, the drive from a Sky box has no on-drive error checking. Therefore they're not suited for use as system critical drives (i.e. boot drive).

He's saying as its original purpose was to be used in a pvr it's best not to use it as a computers main hdd. If you want to use it as a secondary storage drive though you won't have too much trouble

It will work, and Windows will treat it as any normal drive. However, because there is no error checking, you may get random problems that don't always occur at the same point, e.g. BSOD, hanging, CTD in games.
