    Re: Please help

got to ask your self a few questions?

Do I want to play online?
    Do I want Live ?
Would I prefer an "offline" machines that will load games from the HDD. (and play with all the naughty people)

There's a few things you need to ask, Do you want to buy the kit for flashing them and then buying extra kit for the burning of the games (an Ihas Drive)

If you get some one else to flash it will you be able to get the future updates and the like with out to much hassle.

I'm not sure of the drive in them but the jungle flasher guide will point you in the right direction, just have a scroll through it and see what's needed for your drive, some are replacing the mother board of the drive them selves, , just have to answer a few questions with your self on what you'd like to get out the end result as to speak.

You can get them hacked as to speak and run all your games from a hard drive some where on your network or attached to the front of it via USB - where will you get the games from? downloads? there quite big, 8 gig and the like, it's not as easy as it used to be ripping one from a n00b's point of view (no disrespect) you got to start some where just like when I wandered in here all them moons ago looking for some amiga roms or emulators! lol

Good luck on what ever you decide mate, Were here to help!

    Re: Please help

As Dibbers has said , it depends what you want from it , the first thing to do is find out what dvd drive is in it , then we can go from there.

Best way is to take apart and have a look at the dvd drive , as there is a label telling you what model it is.If you are not fussed about online play , i would consider the RGH route.

I'm going to go for this too, I can get an Xbox 360 white (never been flashed) but has an open tray error for £30.

I have a question about the open tray error for you Dibbers.
Do I have to fix this if I am going to run all my games form an external drive?
I will use your post below as a check list for searching

    cheers

Do you want to buy the kit for flashing them? Possibly depends how much and if I have to solder
then buying extra kit for the burning of the games (an Ihas Drive) ? why do I need to burn them if they are going on an external drive
where will you get the games from? same as the ones for the wii

    Re: Please help

you don't need a drive in the machine to be able to run the backups from a hard drive, (how ever the light will blink rapidly all the time!) how ever, I posted the other day about what boxes can be done, pretty much most of the newer ones and the older ones can, all depends, some are jtag and some are RGH with a cool runner board installed, is it HDMI? dash board etc. (CB kernal and make and model of the machine ) If not will you want it, RGB is good, but of course not as good as HDMI.

Post back on what machine it is and then the pro's like Dave and Oggy will help you out mate. have a look for the link about the boxes and see if you can match it. How ever, If your going to get it then I'd suggest some one maybe "glitching" it for you, all you have to do is pay them, and it's not a bad price considering what's involved.

I told me mate this and he has said that he's going to do his him self *shrugs* so he's off to buy all the parts.

Depends on how much you want to learn and read, and then buy the parts for flashing, reading and writing and the like.

Quite a lot for you to read up on, but we all got to start some where.

You could some it up though.

make sure you can glitch it.
Get some one to Glitch it for you.
    Download some back ups.
    Buy a hard drive (USB)
    PLAY

    Or

Buy it and try and do it all your self, it's not really that hard on the understanding of it all (all though my self dived in at the deep end and it was just bad luck that I got a duff nand, I blame me blasting it with uncontrolled heat for 10 minuets! ) but from going from nothing into doing it you have set your self a high target to beat. Good fun learning though!

    have fun.

    Re: Please help

If you want, you can also play games that are stored on a shared folder on your networked devices.
