Games, AGBX, AP25, Burning, WTF?! :D

Ok, i'm doing ok so far.

I got a banned Elite previously flashed. On the newest Dash, managed to get the drive key for it and get it updated. Also, got myself a IHAS124 revB, flashed to 524 and then IXtreme Burner Max and now i'm ready to go.

Here's where i'm getting lost. As i'm not worried about online, i just want the newest games, what do i need to do to burn them? Most, i'm going to grab from newsgroups. I've read this : http://www.digitalworldz.co.uk/27307...burn-your.html for the XGD3 games - is there anything else i need to do like patch them? whats an 0800 rip? once i'm done, i guess i won't need to do anything to it for a while. I've got some verbs to start with, will try cheaper disks from then onwards if all goes well

Anything else i should be aware of?

Hope i can help a little bit, an 0800 rip is when you take an old xbox 360 drive and instead of flashing it with LT+2.0 with all the security checks etc for an xbox you flash with some "open" CFW (called 0800) which is basicly stripped firmware

It means that when you then use xbox back up creator it'll un-lock the game partitions and video and then rip the game, some say that this is the best way to do it. (it's for ripping orginal games only)

So for example i have a BenQ that is flashed with the 0800 firmware and i have it powered by my xecutor and connected to the PC via the sata (same way that you'd flash) then on my pc i have the via driver installed and the drive shows like a normal drive in windows. (of course if you ever use JF make sure the driver is removed or you'll brick your drive, unless it's a Hitachi)

The "ihas" drive (with the correct firmware) allows you to burn the little bit extra that m$ have managed to squeeze onto the dual layer DVDs, so when you tried to burn with a normal pioneer etc. then it would spit up a message to say that there wasn't enough space on the medium and do you want to "over burn" or "burn to the edge of the medium"

well, i'll not be ripping my own yet so thats ok, i'll worry about that side of things later! why are they ran thru agbx? if the new games can't be touched, are they not playable yet?

well you would run a game through agbx and that would patch the game with video partions and check that the CRC and other checks are all correct, add stealth files etc.

If it found that a game was not correct it would then patch the "iso" and make it "good" how ever it doesn't work on the new games (there's a new one coming out)

ahh, i c. So the rips on newsgroups (for example) may more than likely need to be ran thru agbx. I guess it doesn't harm running them thru it anyway. well, once the new one comes out. do they make them "good" for online or just "good" for any use? will none of the XGD3 games work yet?

Yeah That's basicly what it was all about, so you'd download "Video partitions" and add them to the AGBX folder, if AGBX needed to add files then it would do it and it would "patch" the game and then make it safe for on line play etc. (apprenetly)

However as you say the new "AGBX" isn't out yet for the newer games so if you try and run them through it you'll just get an unrecognized error.....
