eMachine Help Needed ;)

right guys i have a eMachine laptop
on the front/sticker its says vista but on start up it says win7
windows wont start at all gets stuck on loading

F8 i can get into and it gives me-
repair your comp
safe mode
safe mode with net working etc etc

when i click repair it starts- windows is loading files and shows the status bar,
it gets to the end and
then screen go`s off then back on and then i see windows loading status bar for 1 second then screen just stays on and blank.

when i pick safe mode two status bars come on top and the bottom saying
loading winds files
and at the bottom please wait.......... over a hour still the same

F2 enter set - needs a password which i dont have.
ive done all the normal buttons to find the bios so i can boot from cd/dvd drive todo a full new
install of win7 as its not on as it wont boot from drive.
ive done F1F2 etc etc and delete/Tap/Esc but no bios?

i dont have any of the original cd`s for the laptop

even after it say windows is doing a repair recovery it just restarts the laptop and im back to square one lol

Grab an ISO disc from The Dentist's link here: https://www.digitalworldz.co.uk/index.php?threads/273034/#post2005296

Then do a repair install.

but is that link just for windows 7
i have a windows 7 and windows xp dvd`s?
but they are not booting up.

why dont you just get the key and do a fresh install

todo a fresh install i need to boot from dvd drive yes?
as i think its off in the bios as it wont boot.

sorry mate, yes your right you do need to get into the bios to change the boot sequence ...

try 0000 or 1234, 1111, for the password...

cheers Ratts confirming that for me lol

i will try password in abit as its trying todo a Startup reapair
its been doing it now for about 30mins but says it can take over a hour to complete

if no passwords work, have you got a good screw driver set lol.....

might have to try clearing the cmos to see if that will work and reset the password

I need to clear the CMOS memory (due to a corrupted BIOS, lost password or other problem) but do not know how to do this

yep.. thats it... when i took my lappy apart to upgrade the cpu i looked for instructions or a youtube link using good old google lol....

ok here is were im up too
password did not work
i can get into normal mode but cant install any thing like anti malware/virus
it takes about 30 mins for windows to load
ive managed to install Ubuntu and from there it say
that the hard drive/windows7 has 106 bad sectors

also from ubuntu it shows me that i can format the drive will this kill win7 and the F2 password?
and then i can get into bios and do a fresh install of windows?

It will kill win 7 noodles but wont change the bios, A long shot but try this take the power lead and battery from the laptop.

Hold down the power button on the laptop for about 60 seconds. Replace battery and see if you can get into bios.

If that fails when the system is starting to boot what is the bios screen make, eg pheonix or ami bios or award if you no what I mean

that did not work cue
what i can see,
it just flash`s up for a slit second is

insyde H20 EFI 2.0 NB
system bios version : V3 .07
bios build date : 02/10/2010

ps ive just picked Ubuntu to start then i saw
the list
Ubuntu
Vista
Win7
and ive just picked vista as that is the ordinal windows i guess as the sticker on the laptop
anyway it started up with Emachines Recovery Management and im in process of doing
a full sysytem restore/format back to the day the laptop was new
hopefully this will work

well that did not work so good pmsl

now i get nothing only F2 setup which is passworded
and windows not starting up, i just stays a blank screen

so it seems ive fooked it good`o now lol
