Welcome to the Digitalworldz UK European Satellite Chat Forums, Discussing having trouble connecting a labgear uhf mini rf modulator to my vu+ duo.

hi guys im trying to connect the uhf modulator to my vu+ duo so i can watch it upstairs on my existing sytem.but im unsure as to what connects to what. the back of the modulator has three connections. one that a f connector connection saying to tv, another f connection saying ant in and a scart conection.

obviousl;y the scart connects to the vu+duo scart , but im unsure what goes to the "to tv" and what goes to the "ant in " . Currently the sytem is connected to the rf connection on my tm800 with a rf connection , so am i right in saying that i unscrew the rf connection which leaves a f connector and connect it to either the "to tv or "ant in " ? sorry if im not putting it across correctly

as you can see from the photo there is also a small silver connection that comes with it that i have no idea what it is to be used for any ideas ???

Hi Squig, scart lead goes from VU to modulator, ant in is if you have an aerial that plugs in there. To TV is the one you need to send it to your other telly upstairs. If you dont have an aerial ignore the ant in one. The little adj button is for adjusting the gain on your signal to the tv in the bedroom.

To simplify it just take the the lead from the TM thats connected to the uhf out. Put an F on it and plug it into the modulator where it says to TV. Check on your TM in UHF what channel it is set to tranmit on, then set the same number on the front of the modulator. make sure scart is from VU to modulator and your done.

i have got it up and running - now my only problem is i cant get it to change channels upstairs. im using a SLX Omni Link Kit +.that i was using with my tm800hd and it worked a treat.the way i used it on my tm800hd was a from the rf connection on the box to an rf connection on the omni link.but i have connected an f connection to the "ant in " on the modulator and i have connected it to omni link with an f to rf connector as there is no f connections on the modulator, the power is on but it wont change channel , what am i doing woring any ideas ? do i need a male to male rf adoptor to get it going maybe ?

Hi Squig, Take the lead out from the back of the modulator change it back to an RF connector (lol) On the omni link plug it into the second TV or remote TV connection in the omni link. Now you need a lead with an F one end and an RF the other end. Plug the F end of the lead into the TV out of the modulator, Plug the other end into the Input of the omni link power the omni link and your done.

can get any picture now cuebase - what connections is the second TV or remote TV (from looking at the picture above).this is what i did. i removed the f connector from the to tv.took the f connection of and connected a rf . i then connected to rf connection to one of teh connectuions at the end of the omni link (there are two) i then connected an f connection to the to tv connection in the modulator and conencted an rf to the other end of the lead i then connected it to connection in the middle of the omni link - powere dup and now i get no picture at all why am i doing wrong mate ?

ive managed to get the picture back on again cuebase following your instructiosn but the remote still isnt working - any ideas ?

Are the little tranmitters that have to be placed on front of the VU from the omnilink lined up ok

yes mate - the light that is on the we box with the magic eye upstairs isnt lite anymore - but the picture is perfect really strange - picture is great by the way
