There is 100% a cpu effect in place with the SE.

I also found that if you switch your channel to a radio station it seems to also stop the lag, I have been testing this with a few scenarios and the best thing I found was taking out the small switch... but I also had some success with making sure that I do not switch from a HD channel to the media player, I basically switched over to the radio then went into the media player.

Not saying it's will work for others but had some success on my setup, but give it a try if enough of us try different solutions we might be able to come up with something.

I also read that you shouldn't leave it on a HD channel when playing from a network share as the CPU is still decoding the channel in the background.

Just been streaming a 1080p movie with dts sound for the last 50 minutes from the linkstation to the dm800se without any lag, video & audio both fine.
Are you still having issues?

No mate, since I removed the switch, and goto the media player via the radio everything seems great.
