I cant get passed the bootloader on My DM800. It hangs half way accross the LCD display then it crashes. On screen I see the bootloader.jpg and there is a blue light on the right of the front panel. The yellow loading bar on the LCD is at halfway but it goes no further.

Prior to this happening the box had said there were 22 updates available for its extensions so I said "yes" to do the updates at the end it asked to reboot I said "yes" again and it green screened and hung.
I powered off (Hard Reboot) and this loader problem began.
I do not have the flash image the box came with but I have backed up everything on the internal HDD inc the image I think.

I really would appreciate someone advice here, is there a way I can push some buttons to access the backup .nfi file on the hdd?

This has happened because you carried out the online automated update. Clones use patched drivers and SSL bootloader. These have most likely been overwritten by the online update and replaced with original Dream Multimedia drivers.
Reflash the image from web browser if boot loader is not damaged. Otherwise you need Mini-USB cable and Sunray Flash-Up and you can restore the bootloader and flash a new image.
Do not do the online updates in images they are updated for original recievers only. Only install updates that downt affect the drivers or SSL bootloader. Standard E2 plugins, skins, softcams etc are fine.

I have found that I have access to the box through DCC but the files in the backup dir look too small to be a full backup, the nfi file is 0 bytes and the nf0 is only 127 bytes. However I have just found nfi files in the root of the hdd which are 61,114,127 bytes I take it thats the file I need to use for the restore.

Did you try flashing it from the web interface?

And as far as I know you need usb drivers for the mini usb cable.

You cant use DreamUP use Sunray FlashUP, I hace PM'd you the link for the USB drivers to use with FlashUP.

I got my box yesterday , 5 minutes to get running, then made the same mistake as kommader and updated the image.
killed the box but sunray flashup sorted it for me.
I put on the dreamboxuk 1.1 image and it runs smooooth and faaaaast.
Lost for choice with the plugins.
didn't need the usb drivers vista got them for me.

A huge THANK YOU gsm, everything is now working again.
The. Com port error was my stupidity I had loaded the SW before plugging the DM in.
I thought this would be a good opportunity to load an openPli image I had downloaded but it didnt work it came up with an error saying nNo CA found, as I didn't have a clue what that was I just flashed my backup and I am up and running again.
