Re: problem using iq image ??

I've had this issue for a while, not just on the IQ image.

The odd thing is that even if you switch the box off and restart on the same dish it comes up as moving dish. I'm certain that it has nothing to do with the dish alignment as when I plug in a 5300D+ there are no issues. I did notice in a crashlog that it was saying that it could not find the satellite using "usals" and was then using "go to x". Even stranger is when you set it up as fixed dish and still get the same thing.

mine has worked on my tm800 - but not sure when it was i last used that sat!

might put an old ur image on tomorrow to see if it picks it up.

I think if you switch it on faced at any sat, it still blinks the dish routation image for a few seconds - even tho its not moving.

Think its just trying to get its bearings

I havn't got 1w for ages I assumed it was just my dish out of alignment.
I will setup my 500s and see if that gets 1w over the weekend.

Re: problem using iq image ??

    Morning chaps

0.8W or 1.0W I have tested on an old UR image from Dec and is working fine.

I have had reports back already to say that the testers have tested it on the IQ image and are getting the same results as us where there is no signal.

This is down to xml files and is a simular problem to why some channel lists are a bit buggy.

The good news is, this is being dealt with along with a few other minor bugs, and should be resolved within days

There may be a temp fix to this which you can do simply at home, but intill I have tried and tested it I am going to zip it! will advise once proven

Losing a whole sat is not a minor bug ffs, I wonder what else hasn't been noticed.

I was thinking it's my dish and all the time it's a crappy image 2 steps forward 3 steps back.

Think I will get a dm800se as I have had enough of this piece of junk.

Because the core level is so different to the "UR" branded releases, this is why a few niggles are showing up when sent public.
Infairness we was all aware there there were going to be a few bugs, the important thing is when they are highlighted they are dealt with as quick as possible.

I would not be as abrasive as saying to 2 steps forward then 3 steps back, because this is not quite the case.

The "IQ" branded image is without best to date The "DWIQ" image is even better

A typical example is, if you buy a internet TV or Blu Ray player and it is connected to the net, it will regualy do firmware updates to fix bugs that you may or may not be aware about - theres not much difference here.

The "IQ" branded images are still young and without doubt there is a little room for fine tuning a devolpment

To add to this, there is much more information that is not misleading - no more well it works here - the attitude now is "yep your right chaps, lets get the team to sort it"

I would though, I wanted to watch something last weekend on 0.8 and got no signal and put it down to my dish, I glad I didn't spend hours trying to realign it.

My tv is connected to the net but it doesn't update unless I tell it to.

A sat box that doesn't get a sat like 0.8 (most tuts say tune to 0.8 when setting up a motorised dish) isn't much of a sat box.
I'm a licensed radio amateur and years ago kenwood brought out a radio called the ts2000 which was called the sat radio, I bought it and found there were spurious noises (birdies) on 2 of the amateur sats. They no longer call it the sat box.

If the tm800 doesn't get all the sats then it's not upto the job is it.

Saying they now acknowledge the problem doesn't help does it. The images should not have been released without at a minimum a test that the sats all work, I understand pvr, timeshift etc being delayed but I don't see how anyone can standby and say it's not a problem that it doesn't pick up certain sats.
