    Re: Lnb

its the dish size that counts more than the lnb for pulling in weaker signals,16E does need to be aligned well as some of the TPs are still a bit weak but better than they have been,I"m near Hull and get tring & digitalb ok on an 85cm gibertini, any reason you cant go bigger as planning allows for 1mt dish as well as a 60cm.(unless in conservation area)

    Re: Lnb

you can have a main dish 'up to' 1.1M in diameter, and a second one 'up to' 60cm without needing any form of planning permission, in conservation areas, as long as guidelines about the siting of the dish are followed, the same rules apply.

While NOTHING performs like a 1M dish other than a 1M dish, there are a few things you can 'tweak' to improve your current setup

is your dish alaigned correctly (if fixed)
is your motor set properly, this can involve quite a few different things, is the mounting pole perfectly plumb, is the dish locked onto the motor dead central.
    is your LNB skew correct

    then theres other smaller things

are you using the best quality cable you can afford
is the LNB the lowest noise figure you can get
is there any kinks in the cable
is the dish solid or mesh

people will try and sell you an LNB that 'makes a 60cm dish act like a 1M dish' but yeh, if the 1M dish had an LNB from 1997 and the 60cm has a low noise one from today, other wise the 1M will be 4x better than the 60cm dish (dish area and noise figures in dB are worked out with complex maths, every 3dB is a square of the last figure, so .3 .2 .1 etc = 1x 2x 4x 8x etc)

but youre 'allowed' a bigger dish, but it does sound like you have other issues than just the LNB youre using m8
