just had a new ignition barrel fitted now car is showing 1614 error code is this to do with key if so how can i get rid of it ????

try putting chip from old key into new key

assuming u changed barrel and have new key

its a 51 plate no never changed coil just barrel it was barrel for my car so didnt need door locks ( hope that makes sense ) the guy that fitted gave me a new key but its just plain key not a key fob that you press to open door it is a new barel as old barrel is in glove department

when they gave you the new key did the code in the key ?
if not try putting the old key to the ign when you turn the lock with the new key see if it sees that transponder
or simply swap the old transponder to the new key

sounds like key not coded
