    Vivaro suspension

Hello fellow DW'ers I have just replaced both bottom ball joints, both inner tie rods, both trackrod ends and anti roll bar bushes on my 03 vivaro, problem is, although those changes have made a world of difference to the van, theres still a nasty knocking sound (metal bang....) when i go over a fair sized bump or pothole, mate of mine has the same van and we compared both on the same bump and its not present on his, any one know what else i might need to replace to solve this..

    cheers.

Hi Miggy, no the cv joints and bearings are sound, i'm thinking shock mountings but was just wondering if anyone was familliar with the vivaro on here that might have a hunch.

not a popular car,can you tell where the noise may be coming from, engine compartment,right/left front/rear underneath, exhaust loose banging, engine movement stick car into 1st hand brake on give a bit of a rev and let clutch out a fraction any noise, also check reverse.

Most likely the antiroll bar links mate. check them when the motor is on the floor not on a jack

    Re: Vivaro suspension

was slightly suspicious of the engine/gearbox mounts but thought they would be more apparent when setting off etc, the van drives lovely and is very quiet until i go over a hollow eg where a pipe might have been laid accross road and not filled in properly, it sounds like its coming from drivers side high up in compartment but its a split second thing and hard to judge, i sometimes think i can feel the knock through the pedels but again its over so quick, the roll bar links or drop links i assume i replaced already so not them, there is a suspension mount that i found on ebay with a bearing and substantial bit of rubber on it see here....
