my sky box is playing up keeps crashing and have to do mains reboot.my son says i could have his old sky box(hes upgraded with new box)
he thinks my card is related somehow to my box and may not work in the one he is offering me. is this so,or will the card work in another box

just call sky and get then to pair with new box

Not quite, only the basic subscription channels will work as normal until you pair the card with the new box. It's the premium channels (movies, sport, etc) that require the card to be paired. Since I don't have the movies or sport I haven't bothered to ring up Sky when I replaced my old box.

I found when I swapped boxes that everything but sport and movies cleared but I couldn't use the pvr functions of the hd box until the card was paired. hope this helps!
