    New HD multiroom Digibox

Sky has released a new HD multiroom Digibox which can access Sky Anytime and recordings on a Sky+HD box.

The compact Sky HD box has a single tuner, an Ethernet port, a single Scart socket, HDMI output and optical digital audio out for Dolby Digital 5.1.

It runs a variation of the Sky HD Guide, but will not have picture-in-picture because there's only one tuner.

However, while the first box is free, to watch HD in a second room will cost £20.50 per month.

The Ethernet port enables users to connect to their Sky+HD box and watch recordings over a home network, or set up recordings remotely.

However, this feature isn't yet activated with no date announced for it to go live.

Also featured is a space-saving 10 -pin mini DIN feature connector which will provide the same services as many of the existing sockets on full-size Sky receivers, such as the RS232 port, composite video and stereo audio outputs,

An extra RF modulator module is available from from Global Invacom will connect to the popular TV Link accessory for TVs connected via UHF.

New multiroom subscribers can get one receiver for free. Additional boxes cost £49 each plus £30 for installation or £60 if you are an existing Sky subscriber. Multiroom and HD subscriptions are required, each costing £10.25/month.

i didn't think you could set up and view recordings from the main hd+ box, from what I've read elsewhere people where moaning that such a feature should have been implemented so kudos to them for that although who knows when they'll activate that.

Although personally its still off limits for me as I refuse to pay another Tenner for hd in another room.
