Hi,

got one of these this morning and i'am going insane.

its not finding any channels. i have an old sly dish which is i use with a freesat hd box which works perectly. but the signal on the openbox is poor. streght 45% quality 5%

but on the freesat box there both around 90%.

i take it i'am correct in that both sly and freesat use 28.2 ?

please help

thanks

Have you selected the satellite on the Satellite List?

You need to select the satellite and press 'OK'.

See the Setup Guide sticky above.

hi,

yes i have selected the sat.
have a cline which in live but still does'nt find any channels

but thanks for your reply

if your freeview box works the openbox probably has a weak tuner we recently had a skys9 the predecessor of this box with this problem i.e not finding any channels on a known good feed we sent it back to the supplier for an exchange

edogg

As edogg says, it may be a bad tuner, send it back or contact the supplier.
I had one which was missing a few HD channels, but that was resolved with a new LNB and cable.

hi mate, whats a LNB ?
i bought this box a few days ago everything works fine i also have an active cline.. only problem some of my HD channels are still scrambled. ive looked for the same channel that works but there only seems to b one..
e.g sky action HD doesnt work but sky action (non HD) works.

If the channels are scrambled, then you are not getting the HD service.
If it shows No Signal then you are not getting the signal from the satellite

UPDATE!!!

OK i have now got channels.

I did a fair bit of reading on various forums lastnight and came acroos a few people with simular problems. And one guy said his openbox only worked with only 1 feed connected to his 4 slot LNB.

So i tried that and got a signal of S 85% Q 76%.
Did a scan on 28.2 and success fond over 700 channels. Funny thing was had to try this upstairs for ease with a new cable for Cable tv in the bedroom. worked perfect so added a feed to the freesat box dowstairs and they both worked.
But when i tried the openbox downstairs they both had NO signal. So had to go back to 1 feed but even then no signal. in the end i had to use the new cable from upstairs to get it working.

But thats a problem for me to sort out later in the week.
