My bro popped round his Wii with a copy of Indy so thought i would sofmod it with him.
His Wii said 4.3 and wouldnt mod at first so ran an update and seemed to mod ok till i rebooted the box and it was stuck on bootmii page with apps, wad manager etc.
It works ok if i start the Wii without the sd card and put it in after start up so a bit of a pain and cant fathom this part out but it has worked.
Anyway thought i would try and re-mod again and soon as i tried to download Homebrew Channel in the soft mod i got this crash log below and now im stuck, any ideas guys???

Try doing an official firmware update again, and see if that fixes your problems

Then start again, but give MODMii a try if you didn't already

It does a 100% offline installation once it has downloaded all the files onto your PC and you simply copy the entire folder onto your SD card and follow the included guide the MODMii gives you. If you can trya different SD card, I've had them fail and changed to a different card. If possible use a maximum 2GB SD card (NOT SDHC) is this can also cause issues as you are bypassing the initial wii start-up that loads the code for SDHC cards. Usually a 1GB or even 512MB SD card is plenty to install any softmod

Make sure you tell MODMii that your wii firmware is 4.3 as the files required to mod 4.3 are different from previous mod's so will give errors when you try to install it

Also, the homebrew channel and bootmii are different again for 4.3 firmware only, so make sure you have installed the correct version

If he has a newer black/red wii these WILL NOT play backups off disc and will only work via USB as this is a physical limitation of the DVD drive, unless you drop in the older revison drives which can be bought new but does mean taking the wii apart

This happened at the beginning of the softmod and i did an official update and it let me mod it then but after the first softmod i tried the same thing doing an update and couldnt get past this error log.
I got this when i walked through the courtyard in the indy game selected the two silloettes and when prompted to install homebrew i got this log up.
Its a white Wii that came with 4.3e on it already.

Crazy thing is ive put my sd card in off a 4.2 and its working but dont want to be using my files just incase he bricks it.
Im using 2gig Sandisk sd cards.

Thanks for the info

Andy,

if you have already softmodded it take the sd card out and restart the wii without the sd card it is loading the bootmi from the card

That is exactly what is happening.Following the softmod it loads bootmii from the card but all the other mods ive done dont do this and go straight to the Nintendo page.No need to remove card?
Is there a way round this do you know?? Only way round at moment is me copying my files from another Wii onto the card and so far its working ok but i know this isnt the correct fix.

I get this error when i try to re mod the box and download Homebrew Channel from the hack.
Just weird dont you think

Andy.

if you read the guide you have to overwrite the sdcard with new file between each step that is why it is reloading bootmi because it is still on the card remove it

This is quite possible cos i blitzed through it and didnt take to much notice of the guide but i did overwrite the sd card with the modmii pack and select the file on pc and hit verify sums and i got 100%.

take the boot.dol file and rename it boot.bak that will stop it loading that file
