hiya, is it possible to downgrade with the minimus ? if so does it stop bluray films playback ? i read there was abit of a problem some people were having when downgrading they lost bluray playback, thanks

Yes you can use a minimus to downgrade the fw mate. It did stop blu-ray working, but dont know if that has now been fixed.

yes you can downgrade but not from 3.55 fw.
there is a manual fix for bd-r but its a manual fix.

1. back-up your files using our ftp
2. downgrade and re-upgrade to 3.41 (using the two usb method )
3. IF bd-r is not playing blu-rays after this ftp files back over in origonal directory places.
4.re-boot ( hard ) off / on power.

I am right in thinking that if you downgrade and loose blu ray, updating to 3.50 via usb stick would get it working again?

i read something like that but then im sure i read it wasnt working for everybody, then i read bluray playback only stopped cause of people using wrong region ps3 update files, so im no where near 100% sure whats what,

ive downloaded my lads phat using the files ive uploaded here ill go see if it plays blu rays now.

Yep bluray is fubared i will update to 3.50 later and try the manual method if bluray is restored.

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU DOWNGRADE.

if you have downgraded befor backing up /dev_flash2 and /dev_flash3 file contents then you are buggered.


before you downgrade make sure you are not using any of the spoofed payloads

1. backup the following files by ftp "/dev_flash2 and /dev_flash3 file contents ".
2. downgrade ( using correct region .pup not modified .pup ) use the 2 usb method.
3. do not check survice mode at all during process or ps3 will lock up with blanck hdd.
4. after you have flashed to fw 3.41 hard reset ( turn off and back on in normal mode).
5. turn off
6. boot up in your prefered payload hack.
7. load up ftp. and transfer /dev_flash2 and /dev_flash3 file contents back to there designated folders. (JUST THE CONTENTS NOT THE FOLDERS)

also please note: blu-ray play back is disabled while in jailbreak mode anyways so dont check while in jailbreak mode.

how do u ftp into your ps3 with out jailbreak ? can i just use normal ftp program ?
