Have I messed my network up
Ok I have windows 7 64 ultimate
4 gigs of ram
Quad core 2.4
Evga 780i nvidia nforce mobo
Isp Virgin 10 Mbit connection
Router Rangemax wpn 824 v2
Share about 3 terabytes using the default home sharing network to my ps3 and xbox 360,and started to noticed that my 720 p blue ray rips were starting to stutter.(it always did)
So I thought why not bridge my network connections because I thought it may be faster to stream my movies.
Well it seemed to work great then I decided to download a couple of movies and to my shock I saw my downloads didnt exceed 400 Kbs where as before it would be 1.1 Mbs constant,
I rebooted my pc,router and moderm then tried it whilst not watching a movie and it didnt go above 950 Kbs,but when I started to watch a movie it slowed down to 246 Kbs.
Changed my network back to the way it was before and its doing the same thing, turned off windows firewall and virus protection made no change either.
Disc in tray and ready to do a fresh install if this cant be fixed.
Any ideas before I proceed please

Just out of interest cos I am not an expert, you may need little_pob, oneman or techguest or many other actual experts.
But have you tried system restore, its amazing how many problems that actually does solve.

have you tried hardwiring the PC to the modem or router. I am wondering if someone new has wifi in your area and you can getting a conflict. At least it will rule out of the wifi being the source of the problem

As oneman says try the hardwired 1st and let us know how you get on. But not sure it will solve anything as I have a m8 who has been getting a similar problem on virgin and we got them to change out the same router but it didn't do anything, neither did hardwire change. He is on w7 32bit.
Been out of the loop for a few ays but am going to take a look at my m8's problem and maybe something will come out of that that will help to resolve your problem.
As for restore points ms changed the way they work on w7 and they only seem to be good for about a weeks worth, unlike xp where if you knew what you were doing then you could get to any old rp on the drive. So if we managed to get this sorted for you the best thing for you to do is create an image or a backup of the drive for future use.
