14th September 2004, 10:35 #4 it depends on motherboards and cpu's and alot of different things.
depends how far you want to take it aswell ...
you would be wise investing in a cooling unit if you are going to do it proper!
and you should always monitor your cpu temp and memmory temp (if you are going to over clock the memm aswell
) there are tools that go in the start menu that will display your cpu temp and always make sure there is a power off at a certain temp as you would rather lose some text you was writing to your cpu !

16th September 2004, 14:10 #5 That would have dropped to the default level when you flashed the bios hence the low 1800, that's a sensible tweak cos you have only pushed it from a 2500 barton to 2800 any more and you'll have to look at extra cpu cooling. You can clock those to 3000 easily with the correct cooling of course
It sounds like bacon and eggs other wise.

16th September 2004, 16:08 #6 most of the newer bartons 2500 and upwards have been locked so u cannot boost them
or prob only other way is to increase the voltage but this is very tricky
and i would advise against it unless u know what ur doing
