Hey all

how do I setup my emails on my iPhone 3gs? I can reciece mail
but it won't send? Got it linked up to my hotmail
account?

Also

what's the latest iPhone firmware that can be jailbroken? If I upgrade will I lose all my apps? Then will I have to load them
back on once I have jailbroke it?

Don't know about the hotmail mail sos

As long as the iphone firmware is 4.0.1 or below then you can jail break the phone. Just a case of going to the jailbreak.com site.

The latest iphone firmware out is 4.0.2 and it's best not to update to it, as you will lose all your jailbroken apps that you have put onto the phone and the memory space that they have taken up. You wouldn't have to reload them back onto the phone if a jailbreak came out for the newer firmware, as from what i've read the apps will just reappear like magic.
plus i think if you update to the newer firmware, it doesn't let you go the jailbreak site, just takes you to the apple site instead.

Hi mate go to settings then add an account, there u have an option to install the emails choose the other option to add your msn addy [just put ur name, email and pssword ]once set up u will emails on the go , i have my ntl, yahoo, and msn addy

Not sure if you sorted it yet mate but go to settings>mail, contacts, calendars choose hotmail and the settings under outgoing mail server want to be

host name smtp.live.com
user name and password are what u log on to hotmail with (user name including the @hotmail.com bit)
use ssl wants to be yes
authenication wants to be yes
server port 25

Once you click done it will verify the settings and if everything ok then you will see a tick pop up by each setting, before it goes back a page
This is how i got mine setup and i can send and receive no problems, hope it helps

Yeah got te email sorted the port number was wrong!!!

As for the jailbreak I think I'll wait till the latest is jb till I update, quite like the look at 4.0.2 compared to 3.1.2 lol
