hiya, what am i doing wrong , im entering my ip address in the FTP that i get off the communication set up, enter my login as root, password 0000, and putting the port that is also on my communication set up page(tm600) and nothing just this.... Client closed the connection.

You need to put your: box's ip address-root-nothing for password unless you have changed it-port 21 (or leave blank)

Yes mate, DO NOT put 0000 as your password , that is only for the blue button not filezilla.

download technomate control centre, open it, enter your box ip addy, username root, paswword leave blank, once logged in, change password to one of your choice, (recommended) then use dcc (dreambox control centre) to do all the ftp'ing... simple as chips.
